Specialist divisions at ERIKS provide dedicated support for Original Equipment Manufacturers
Where the performance of your product and success of your business relies upon others you need partners that you can trust to understand and meet your needs.
Our OEM teams bring fundamental product understanding, production, assembly and test capabilities to you via processes optimised to match the needs of serial or batch equiment manufacturers.
Unlike traditional manufacturers, who promote a fixed product range to maximise their equipment utilisation, ERIKS brings you a more modern approach that is better suited to the needs of today’s manufacturers. The combination of collaborative engineering with an agile supply chain model truly sets us apart and allows our teams the freedom to always strive for the best possible solution for our customers.
Our product experts and design engineers either assist our customers to select from proven product ranges or collaborate with customer engineering teams to develop and specify customer specific products and test criteria. Whether customer specific products are manufactured in-house or produced to the agreed specification by the most appropriate third-party, robust management systems are applied to ensure quality. We understand that both superior performance and faster speed to market are key in providing you with a competitive edge.
Following product introduction customers benefit from tailored logistical solutions including customer specific stock holding with just-in-time call off, consignment consolidation and shipping, and line-side or kanban supply.
It all comes together to make it easier for manufacturers to work with ERIKS.
Fundamental knowledge and understanding of the composition, production, capabilities and consistency of a product is necessary for it to be incorporated within original equipment. Product experts working for our specialised OEM divisions and our global Centres of Expertise help customers correctly specify products from proven product ranges, or identify suitable technologies upon which to collaboratively engineer solutions. Our product experts hail from numerous academic backgrounds including Engineering, Material Sciences and Chemistry and boast a wealth of industry experience, they draw upon industry leading analytical equipment, which is all made available to our OEM customers.
Whilst we may be expert in our products, we humbly recognise that our customers are the expert in their products and retain overall design authority and conceptual design ownership. Collaborating with customers to jointly engineer solutions is what we enjoy most of all. Our Design Engineers draw upon a wealth of knowledge and routinely use simulation tools such as FEA to help optimise the conceptual designs of our customers. They will then capture and agree design intent, typically using 3D CAD and 2D drawings. Subsequently our engineers capture the manufacturing specifications and quality criteria necessary to fully productionise the solution.
Faster time to market is critial to providing our customers with competitive and commercial advantage. With in-house production, digital manufacturing capabilities, 3D printing technologies and extreme customer focus ERIKS manufacturing engineers support prototype development and new product introduction.
Whilst many solutions operate within well known limits of technology and can immediate progress to in application testing at customers, some solutions require additional performance validation, for which ERIKS have numerous in-house test rigs and supporting analytical equipment.
Customer specific components and assemblies are frequently manufactured at our in-house production facilities across Europe.
UK facilities include:
ESP Barnsley - sheet converting, with die cutting, oscillating knife, waterjet and routing.
ESP Warrington - 3 axis turning & 5 axis mill-turn-grind, moulding, assembly.
EHT Northampton - Hose cutting, welding, crimping, wrapping & testing.
EVT Leicester - Valve & actuation assembly & test.
EPT Pensnett - Geared motor assembly & test, belt and chain cutting,
UK facilities are augmented by similar facilities elsewhere in Europe together with industrial plastic processing plants and specialist gasket production.
Different types of OEM's have differing needs, ERIKS has developed processes to effectively support each, maximising continuity of supply. Typical services for each type of OEM are below:
Serial OEM's - stock holding based upon receipt of customer forecast and underlying commitment, with releases triggered on a just in time basis either digitally or via line-side supply / Kanban. Customer branded custom packaging and kitting services help our customers support their aftermarkets.
Batch OEM's - make to order supply.
Project OEM's - Consolidated consignments of all products needed to complete a project are prepared and consolidated into a "set" that is supplied to location on the specified date.
All of our production locations operate robust ISO9001 management systems.
Risk based product inspection strategies are applied as defaul, but in the rare occasion customers wish to deviate from our standards we are typically able to accommodate custom testing protocols.
Extensive metrology capabilities exist within our OEM divisions, including contact and non-contact CMM's, hardness and density measurement and analytical equipment e.g. FTIR, TGA & DSC.
Quality documentation is routinely provided such as PPAP, FAIR and CofC.
It would not be realistic to believe that a single factory or brand could excel at, or even house, all capabilities to produce all of the products within any product catergory. As an industry leading manufacturer, ERIKS is well placed to provide specialised, category specific, supply chain integration and quality assurance. ERIKS wirk with an exceptionally strong range of trusted brands and manufacturing partners from whom we can source products on behalf of our customers. We can even support consolidation from customer nominated suppliers. Make / buy decisions and supplier selection is made to best suit the product and commercial needs of our customers on a case by case basis, providing our customers remarkable agility.
Configured products are those which are specified using rules based logic, often being parametrically described. They form part of standard product ranges, but are too diverse to stock as individual articles. These are configured and supplied on a make to order basis.
Product configuration and make to order supply is available for ranges including:
-Cut gaskets
-Hose assemblies
-Custom geared motors
-Actuated valves with pre-set service
Saving you time and money, each and every day
